South Florida Private Club Prestige Index 2026

Twenty-five private clubs across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, scored on seven dimensions of exclusivity, heritage and golf pedigree. Seminole Golf Club and The Everglades Club share the top score of 82. Palm Beach County holds sixteen of the twenty-five places; Miami-Dade posts the highest county average.

The three counties

Palm Beach has the depth. Miami-Dade has the average.

Palm Beach County supplies the two highest-scoring clubs and sixteen of the twenty-five places. Miami-Dade places only six, but four of them score 71 or higher, giving it the strongest county average. Broward’s three clubs lean on heritage: The Hillsboro Club dates to 1925 and Fort Lauderdale Country Club to 1926. Because many clubs tie membership to an address, this is a relocation map as much as a golf one.

Palm Beach

82

Top club ranks #1 · 16 clubs · County average 63.3

Seminole Golf Club leads the index, with The Everglades Club level on 82 and Gulf Stream, Jupiter Hills and Royal Palm close behind.

Miami-Dade

78

Top club ranks #3 · 6 clubs · County average 66.2

Indian Creek Country Club sets the county’s pace, followed by La Gorce, Riviera and Fisher Island, three of them on islands.

Broward

62

Top club ranks #13 · 3 clubs · County average 50.7

Coral Ridge Country Club, Robert Trent Jones Sr.’s former home course, leads a small, heritage-heavy field that includes Broward’s oldest private country club.

Tiers: Tier A scores 75 or more, Tier B 60 to 74, Tier C below 60. Scores reflect editorial judgment applied to reported data; the index is an editorial study, not an official industry rating. Only confirmed private, member-owned or membership-gated clubs in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties were eligible. Fees are labeled with their source and year where known; “not publicly disclosed” means no credible current figure was found. Each club’s membership office is the only authoritative source for fees and terms. Membership counts are reported estimates, and founding years distinguish club founding from course opening where sources differ. Sources include Golf Digest 2025–26 rankings, USGA championship records, club histories and official pages, the Miami Herald (2021, 2026), The Real Deal (October 2026) and the Palm Beach Post (2019), with third-party fee directories flagged as such.
