Why did you choose Real Estate?

I started working before my daughter was born in a Fortune 500 company on Park Avenue in NYC. However, when she started preschool I decided to go into a business with more flexibility as well as where I could be a differentiator. I focused on the luxury market in the area where we lived and decided to concentrate on marketing which was my specialty at my prior job. I felt that to set myself apart from my competitors I had to offer my seller clients venues that none of my competitors were using which led to all of my exclusive relationships with different venues, some of which I still have today. It made a huge difference in building my listing inventory. And the rest is history! 

How did you get to where you are today?

It seemed like a slow progression while it was happening but it was really about building a track record of both successfully selling your clients their homes as well as getting their listings sold. Once you have established yourself as the area expert, it is a matter of sharing your statistics so that you can keep yourself at the top and distance yourself from your competitors.

What is one of your favorite client stories?

Being in the business for 4 decades offers many stories. I have had the pleasure and privilege of meeting numerous celebrities and athletes as well as nationally & internationally known CEOs and public figures.

There was one family I relocated 10 times and we have become great friends, actually more like family. Many of my clients are local business people and it’s been great watching their children grow up and now have families of their own. Many of my clients have become part of my life.

Without going into specifics, some of my most iconic sales have offered me 2 and 3 times both listing & selling these incredible residences. These are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and here I feel so privileged to be a part of these super transactions each time they have become available.

What makes your market unique?

Our market area is located approximately 30 minutes outside of Manhattan. For those who don’t want to leave the New York City area, it’s a natural progression to reside right outside the city. They don’t have to relocate their jobs and they can enjoy all the culture and attributes of what New York City is known for. Even now, we have many New Yorkers coming out to Northern New Jersey. The Burbs are Back!
