Richard Gere, well-known for his role in Pretty Women and Officer and a Gentleman, sold his New York home in May 2022. Though he listed it for $28 million, it sold rather quickly for $24.15 million and many were left wondering who bought it for a 14% discount when the buyer was not revealed.

The house itself is 11,658 square feet. Included in this large home are eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, a living and dining room, office, and library. The home is on 49 acres and surrounded by 4,300 acres of protected land and over the years, Gere had added many upgrades such as a pool, stables, multiple guest houses, and even a soccer field as well.

Just a few days ago, New York Post revealed that the purchaser of the home was director and producer Ryan Murphy. Ryan Murphy has created some big shows and movies, including Glee, Nip/Tuck, and Eat, Pray, Love. The area is located about an hour from Manhattan and is home to a few other celebrities, including Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Ryan Reynolds, and Blake Lively.
