What is your Labor Day Weekend guide for residents of your market?

Heather Hudson, Austin, Texas

Our recent heavy rains will hopefully fill up some of Austin's most beloved watering holes. From floating on tubes on the San Marcos, Comal, and Guadalupe Rivers to taking a dip in Hamilton Pool Preserve, there are plenty of opportunities to get submerged in Labor Day festivities. If you are looking for something a bit drier, take a cruise on Lady Bird Lake and watch the infamous bat colony make their evening departure from under the Congress bridge to head East of town where they feed overnight.

Some of the best things about Austin happen inside! From enjoying our finger-licking good barbecue to taking part in one of the many live music performances you can find on any given night in and around Austin. Another favorite Texas tradition is two-stepping at the Broken Spoke or watching the Sunset from The Oasis. Austin is abundant in events, festivals, and activities. Never a shortage so come on down and spend your long weekend in "Keep it Weird" Austin, Texas.

Nancy Tallman, Park City, Utah

Labor Day in Park City, Utah, honors Park City's mining past, and locals call this holiday "Miner's Day." The day kicks off with the Miner's Day Breakfast at City Park and is followed by a 5k Bark City Fun Run, where your dog can join you as you run through Park City's streets. At 10:30 is the world-famous "Running of the Balls" (not Bulls), where you purchase a ball and at 10:30, over 300 balls are let loose on Park City's Main Street. The owner of the winning ball wins a prize. At 11:00 am is the Miner's Day Parade on Main Street, where locals line the streets and cheer on our high school marching band, police officers, and community floats. After the parade, everyone heads to City Park for live music, kids' games, and Mining Demonstrations. It's a day of small-town, old-fashioned fun that contrasts with some of Park City's more sophisticated events like the Sundance Film Festival and World Cup Ski Competitions.

Mark Peterson & Dana Bambace, Pebble Beach/Carmel, CA

For much of the country, Labor Day is the end of the summer. But for Carmel and Pebble Beach, it is the beginning of two months of great beach weather where it feels more like summer. Gatherings at the beach for a day of fun or a sunset drink followed by a bonfire make it a great time to live here or plan a visit.

Stay away from the beach- it’s too wild with tourists and exceptionally busy. The best thing to do with a few friends is to go on a boat or spend time at the pool, bbq, or outdoor cinema ? and relax.

Jeanie Vidaurreta, Audrey Ross Team, Miami Beach Islands, FL

Residents of Miami Beach and the Islands of Miami Beach spend our Labor Day Weekend in our own backyards or on Biscayne Bay! We share our beautiful beaches with many people this holiday weekend and it is a nice time to stay close to home with family and friends. Poolside BBQ parties, boating, jet skiing, and paddle boarding are all on the agenda for our residents!

It is the beginning of the fall season and sending off summer with so much to do, you do not have time to take it all in. You will find me at the JAS Labor Day weekend festival https://jazzaspensnowmass.org/labor-day-experience/
The lineup this year includes Stevie Nicks, Chris Stapleton, St. Paul, the Broken Bones, and Leon Bridges.
Another fantastic event through Labor Day is the Motherlode Volleyball Tournament. Check out the various games going all through the weekend at great locations in town, https://letsgovolleyball.com/motherlode/

Weather is usually bluebird days and cool nights which is fantastic hiking weather and a chance to take in dinner at one of the many great restaurants in Aspen.

Aspen/Snowmass is the place to be for Labor Day Weekend 2022!

Lee Roufa, Licensed Broker Engel Voelkers Telluride, Telluride, CO

Every Labor Day weekend for the past 49 years thousands of movie buffs and aficionados flock to Tellurides downtown to get in line for the coming year's best films. September 2-5 is the Telluride Film Festival. The passes sell out overnight and there are additional viewings available if you're willing to wait in line! But, hey the view of the surrounding 13,000' peaks from Main Street might make your wait all the more intriguing. The wildflowers are still in bloom in the high country and our summer evenings are dazzling. The vibrant restaurant scene is delightful as are the various music and cultural events filling up this high country havens calendar. Film or no film a Labor Day weekend in Telluride will refresh!

Labor Day signifies the last summer holiday prior to Fall. The East Bay is convenient to many fabulous destinations both local and just a few hours away. A few of our favorite places to wrap up summer include Lake Tahoe, the Sonoma Napa Valley, Healdsburg, Stinson Beach, Half Moon Bay, Carmel, or San Francisco just across the Bay. Whether you desire exceptional dining, a day at the beach, hiking, water skiing, or wine tasting, the Bay Area offers a wide variety of places and experiences to enjoy. What will you do?

From the Live on the Green concert in Nashville’s pretty Public Square Park near the Cumberland River to the Mercy Franklin Classic road race celebrating its 23rd year in Franklin, TN, there is so much to do in the Nashville area on Labor Day Weekend! School is back in session and college football has kicked off with a home game for Vanderbilt University. Be sure you also check out Music in the Vines at Arrington Vineyards and Shakespeare in the Park returning to the Yard at oneCity. We are stretching the last moments of summer this holiday weekend!

Labor Day Weekend in Santa Barbara is always fabulous, and this time of year ushers in the perfect coastal weather. There are so many great events for visitors and locals alike, whether you're walking the pedestrian promenade down State St, checking out local wineries in the Funk Zone, or soaking up rays on Butterfly Beach in Montecito. I would highly recommend checking out our beloved Santa Barbara Bowl where the Goo Goo Dolls will be performing, or grabbing tickets to Grammy-nominated guitarist Tab Benoit at Lobero Theater. For local eats, tapas is always a fun choice: restaurants Loquita and Milk & Honey both serve up delicious bites with phenomenal cocktails.

Marsha Kotlyar Estate Group, Montecito, CA

Spend three days off in Montecito to say goodbye to summer this Labor Day weekend! With warm weather in the forecast and endless summer events at your fingertips, we’re looking forward to brighter days ahead. Although we might recommend holding off a trip to the sure-to-be-mobbed Butterfly Beach, we have some secret spots up our sleeve – whether you’re picnicking at Hammonds, sipping drinks poolside at San Ysidro Ranch, or grabbing brunch at Jeannine’s on Coast Village Road.

Start your staycation with a homemade artisanal dish from Merci, then stroll locally-inspired and curated boutiques throughout Montecito Country Mart. When you’re ready for an adventure, ride bikes downtown or maybe just stroll through the shade under Toro Canyon Park’s beautiful oak trees. Once you work up your appetite again, order a few burgers to-go from Miramar’s food truck to eat on the sand. Watch dolphins glisten through the water, meander tidepools with the kids, or head home early to start your BBQ for dining al fresco. Truly, what better place to relax and enjoy than our very own backyard?

Living on St. Croix feels like an extended holiday weekend all the time – we never have a shortage of sunshine, beaches, and ways to enjoy them!

So this Labor Day Weekend Guide can be used any time of the year thanks to having perfect, sunny weather all year long. This weekend guide is for the outdoor nature enthusiast who loves food and good music!

Start your three-day weekend Friday night with a culinary experience at one of our restaurants in downtown Christiansted following it up with live entertainment, which will be easy to find along the boardwalk. Enjoying sunrise in paradise is a must – we suggest taking an early morning drive to Point Udall to be the first in the US to see the sunrise from the easternmost tip of the United States, then hiking up Goat Hill to see St. Croix from a bird’s eye view. Starting your day early leaves plenty of time to hop on a boat charter over to our Buck Island National Park.

Choose a day to drive the gorgeous north shore coast winding up and around Scenic East making a stop at Cane Bay then continuing your drive west through the rainforest. West is picture perfect, pulled from a postcard with sandy beaches lined with coconut palms and crystal clear water. Pull up a chair, dive deep into a good book and wait for the sun to set! Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see the green flash!

Understanding how our clients see themselves living on St. Croix is important to our process of helping them settle into their new island home. Many of our clients pop over for a long weekend, like Labor day, so we always like to start our conversations with “tell me about your ideal island lifestyle” and then curate an island experience and their real estate search from there.
