The Napa Estate of the Late Winemaker Robert Mondavi Up For Bid

November 16th will be one crazy day for the person who offers the winning bid for the 56-acre Napa Valley estate of the late winemaker Robert Mondavi, located just south of Yountville and a few minutes down the road from his undoubtedly famous winery.

The 11,500-square-foot house, which was designed in 1979 by famed California architect Cliff May and hit the market for $25M last May, boasts a 50-foot indoor pool with a retractable roof. While there aren’t vineyards on the property, there are two plantable acres for aspiring vintners and, of course, an underground wine cellar to store the goods. Perhaps the estate owes its lack of sale success to the fact that there are only two bedrooms? Because, let’s face it, this place is beyond awesome. Anyway, bids start at $13.9M in a sealed auction through Sheldon Good.
