Several Shipping Containers Were Used to Build This Indonesian Home

Container 1

One man’s used shipping container is another man’s luxury home.

At the request of colleagues and due to limited amounts of space, architect Atelier Riri designed a home utilizing several reused containers. The house, built near the Indonesian city of Jakarta, was created with a family of four in mind and utilizes the additional space created by the four shipping containers as a hobby room. Reclaimed woods and reused metals were used alongside the recycled containers, making the two-level residence pretty eco-friendly.

Riri is hopeful that this house and ones similar will set a new standard for contemporary tropical homes built in Indonesia. Learn more about the home and its designer here.
