Abaco, a gem of the Northern Bahamas, is poised to welcome a new level of leisure and luxury in late 2024 following the February 27 groundbreaking of Montage Cay. The $300M+ private-island resort, residential, and marina project is a collaboration between developer Sterling Global and hospitality management company Montage International and will feature 50 all-suite accommodations, a limited collection of Montage Residences, and a 47-slip marina accommodating vessels up to 110 feet.

The ceremony, attended by the nation's leaders, including Prime Minister Philip 'Brave' Davis and Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper, marked a milestone in the continued development of The Bahamas' internationally acclaimed tourism tradition. Sterling Global, a full financial service and real estate development group, is no stranger to the island, having successfully launched the Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina in late November, which the Prime Minister hailed as a fitting and welcome addition to the seaside community.

Montage Cay will be built in harmony with the island's seven white-sand beaches against a backdrop of the Sea of Abaco and the distinguishing cays and will boast an array of sumptuous restaurant and bar experiences including a signature dinner-only restaurant and spa cafe, as well as a full-service Spa Montage, an extensive health and wellness program, fitness center, swimming pools, and Montage's signature Paintbox Children's Club. Fully embracing the island’s tropical sensibility, the resort will offer access to world-class boating, fishing, and water sports activities.

Sterling founder and executive chairman David Kosoy spoke of the milestone event, stating that Montage Cay and The Residences at Montage Cay will bring a new level of leisure and luxury to the Abacos. But more importantly, he noted, the project “...will provide upscale, desirable jobs when complete and will attract visitors and residents who truly respect The Bahamas, its waters, its people, and the wonderful lifestyle this country has to offer.”

Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Montage International, Alan J. Fuerstman, expressed his pleasure in partnering with Sterling Global to bring Montage Cay to life and introduce the company's first Caribbean resort. Fuerstman emphasized that Montage Cay has been designed to fuse the island's natural beauty with Montage's signature amenities and service.
