H2O Architectes’ Clever Cabin in the French Alps

Chockfull of built-ins, this contemporary ski chalet tucked within the French Alps makes the most out of its tiny footprint with its smart utilization of bunk beds, hidden storage space, and streamlined circulation.

“Rather than trying to fit the furniture into the apartment, we decided to fit the apartment into the furniture,” says architect Antoine Santiard of H2O Architectes. “However absurd [the concept] may seem, it immediately alleviated all the constraints linked to laying out tight spaces.”

The wool curtain dividing the space was crafted by Arpin, a local company, while the featured custom track is by G-Rail.
