Pinecrest is known for white picket fences, sculpted shrubbery, and most of all—stunning homes. The upscale neighborhood has attracted a slew of celebrity names over the years as an endlessly secure and private community. Combining the best of both worlds, one Pinecrest abode was recently purchased for a record price, and it was sold by none other than former Boston Red Sox legend David Oritz (aka “Big Papi”).

Going down as the priciest sale ever in Pinecrest, Oritz’s former home closed for $10.55M—a price that reflects its optimization as both a sanctuary and ultimate entertainment space. The pad spans five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 10,178 square feet, with unique appointments around almost every corner.

Every sports fan wants a spot to kick back with friends and watch the game, but for one whose name is nearly synonymous with the game itself, this spot certainly isn’t your typical man cave. In addition to a galaxy-like home theater with space for eight, the mansion’s sleek “Boom Boom” sports bar makes for a natural hub with an HD video wall of 9 paneled screens, a full bar, and access to the outdoors.

Outside, the fun continues with an extravagant pool as well as covered terraces, a separate spa, an outdoor shower, and a gazebo complete with a summer kitchen. As guests mingle inside and out, curating an atmosphere is easy with state-of-the-art home animation, which controls the exterior fire pits, water fountains, and more.

When the party’s over, this outdoor wonderland doubles as one of many amenities that make the home such an intimate oasis. Each bi-level bedroom has its own staircase and sitting room that leads to the outdoors, and the grand master suite is expansive, yet cozy with its oversized windows and a hidden HD TV that folds down from the ceiling. The ensuite bathroom showcases a large floating tub and a sprawling 16-foot-long shower, making for a sumptuous spa experience right at home.
