Dante DiSabato On Naples Real Estate Performance In 2020

Editor’s note: Dante DiSabato talks about the Naples, Florida real estate market performance in 2020 in this Q&A with Haute Residence.

How did the real estate market look in the beginning of 2020?

At the beginning of 2020, the market was looking to be one of our best years ever in real estate. It was moving at a slightly faster pace than a normal season does. I would say it was a buyer’s and seller’s market pretty evenly across the board.

What, if any, changes did the pandemic have on prices? On inventory?

The pandemic caused prices to increase and turn our market into a sellers market. Due to being in Florida and Naples, our inventory fell drastically with everyone wanting to get out of the Northern markets and come down to Florida or at least have an escape plan if needed. I have never seen this market move this fast and we are blessed and lucky to be in this position.

Professionally, what have you learned in 2020 about yourself?

I have learned to stay humble and breathe! There are highs and lows in this business and 2020 had a lot of them. Going from a great start to a complete pause in the market to now moving at a pace that not many can keep up. It is fun and I have to continue to be thankful and work hard because it might not always be like this.
