BOMP’s ‘Essence’ Nabs First Place in eVolo Skyscraper Competition

Polish architectural firm BOMP shatters the standard definition of a high-rise with Essence Skyscraper—a bright idea that took home first place in this year’s Skyscraper Competition hosted by eVolo magazine, which called for futuristic ideas for high-rise living.

BOMP’s proposed translucent tower would contain 11 stories, each featuring a different kind of natural landscape—from mountains, rivers, jungles, and deserts, to swamps, grasslands, glaciers, and caves.

“The main goal of the project is to position non-architectural phenomena in an urban fabric,” said the firm—helmed by architects Konrad Basan, Ewa Odyjas, Agnieszka Morga, and Jakub Pudo. “Away from everyday routines, in a dense city center, a secret garden that combines architecture and nature is born.”
