Howard Hughes Communities celebrates a major construction milestone for Texas’s first stand-alone Ritz-Carlton residences, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects.
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS — October 8, 2025 — Howard Hughes Communities has announced the topping out of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, The Woodlands, marking a defining moment for the highly anticipated luxury residential development designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects.
As the first stand-alone Ritz-Carlton residential property in Texas, the project represents a new benchmark for high-end living, set on the last large-scale residential site on Lake Woodlands, just 27 miles north of downtown Houston. With record-breaking demand since launch, the residences continue to reinforce The Woodlands as one of the nation’s most desirable addresses.
Spanning eight private acres with 1,200 feet of lakefront shoreline, the development features approximately 15,000 square feet of indoor wellness and lifestyle amenities, three acres of outdoor experiences, and Ritz-Carlton–level concierge services. The architecture reflects a timeless sophistication inspired by Texas estates, marrying modern classicism with the spirit of lakeside living.
“As we continue to see across our portfolio of award-winning master-planned communities, exceptional quality drives extraordinary demand,” said David O’Reilly, Chief Executive Officer of Howard Hughes. “The Ritz-Carlton Residences, The Woodlands is reinforcing the strength of our community and showcasing the unparalleled residential experiences that make The Woodlands one of the most desirable places to live in the country.”
“Each residence is laid out like a ‘great house,’ providing owners with the ideal setting of a modern lakeside estate,” added Robert A.M. Stern, founding partner of Robert A.M. Stern Architects. “We have designed our buildings to surpass the most discerning of expectations.”
Beyond its architecture and amenities, the project connects residents to an ever-evolving landscape of luxury retail, fine dining, and entertainment, including concerts at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and access to miles of nature trails, parks, and lakes that define The Woodlands lifestyle.
“This project represents a defining moment for The Woodlands, raising the bar for luxury living while building on its 50-year legacy of thoughtful planning, natural beauty, and exceptional quality of life,” said Jim Carman, President of the Texas Region for Howard Hughes Communities.
Private appointments are available at the project’s 4,000-square-foot sales gallery located at Howard Hughes’ headquarters in The Woodlands. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing serves as the exclusive listing brokerage for the project.
Construction completion is expected in 2027.
