The average home price varies considerably according to its neighborhood and community. Vail Village, Lionshead, and Beaver Creek are much more expensive than some of the other outlying, but nearby, areas.

Mountain contemporary, mountain traditional, or some combination of both, are the most common building types in Vail Valley. Mountain contemporary is becoming increasingly popular, but some buyers still really enjoy a more rustic mountain feel for their mountain home. Regardless, even the more traditional mountain properties are becoming streamlined with cleaner lines and are a bit less rustic than 20 years ago. Most people design their homes with a great exterior living space and a structure that brings the outdoors inside.
