The Château des Brouillards, the onetime home of acclaimed impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, has been put on the market for a whopping €7.8M (approximately $9.9 million US). The Château, built in 1772 by a Parisian lawyer, is located in the uber-trendy neighborhood of Montmartre. The home’s garden affords stunning views of some of Paris’ most iconic Paris, including the Church of the Sacré Coeur. This 3,000-square-foot stone home boasts four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a French country-style open kitchen, 20-foot ceilings, with the added luxury of an indoor pool and other modern amenities thanks to a recent $3-million renovation.
Local historians believe Renoir lived at the estate throughout the late 1880s. The home is currently owned by the former executive of a successful French denim company, who purchased the property during an auction in 2002 and spent millions meticulously renovating the home.
