Now that it's successfully secured city approval, Turnberry Ocean Club—Turnberry Associates’ highly anticipated luxury condominium—will officially be making a splash into Sunny Isles' residential market pool.
The 52-story tower's 154 residences—located at 18501 Collins Avenue—will be priced from $3 million to $22 million, with sales expected to launch later this year.
We chatted with Turnberry Associates' president of residential development, Dan Riordan, who revealed how the stunning development embodies luxury living, elaborated on its most noteworthy features, and explained how it's raising the bar.
What sets Turnberry Ocean Club apart from similar projects sprouting in south Florida? In what ways does the development raise the bar?
Turnberry Ocean Club represents the best that the Turnberry brand has to offer. Turnberry has been developing in Miami for nearly 50 years and this project is the latest in our tradition of luxury. The concept of using an internationally renowned architect like Carlos Zapata of Carlos Zapata Studio from NYC for our tower design—along with the acclaimed local architect Robert Swedroe of Robert Swedroe Architects as the architect of record—has been an exceptional design recipe.
Over 18 months we have created a tower that will not only rival any in Miami, but also raise the bar around the world. The Turnberry Ocean Club boasts a modern, elegant glass design, flow-through floor plans that showcase direct ocean, bay and city views and five amenity levels throughout the tower.
In your opinion, what is the Turnberry Ocean Club’s most notable feature?
We have completed designs for a three-story private amenities area located 300 feet above sea level on floors 30 through 32. The exclusive club features two cantilevered pools, hot tubs, a private spa and gym, a nail and blow dry salon, a sunset club lounge and private dining area, an outdoor theater, and a pet play retreat. All this in addition to the lower amenity levels that include an outdoor restaurant/bar, café, kids club, and indoor theater all located adjacent to the lobby and main pool area.
What aspect of the project are you personally most proud of?
The three-story private club—which towers 300 feet above the Atlantic Ocean—is definitely the signature amenity of our tower, and there is no other building to date in Miami that has ever offered a space quite like it. I am most proud of this area, as it is something that has never been done here and an area that I feel our owners and their guests will love using regardless of where they live in the tower. It has been very well received by our Turnberry clientele who are currently part of our VIP Priority Interest List for when we launch the onsite sales campaign in the next few months at 18501 Collins Avenue.
Describe how the residential tower embodies luxury living and sets your brand apart
The tower, which was recently approved by the city, speaks of sleek elegance and modern design. After arriving at the grand porte cochere residents and their guests will enjoy the impeccable taste of our interior designer, Jan Clausen of Clausen-Chewning Interior Design, in all common areas of the tower, including the three-story lobby with soaring ceilings and a view that immediately draws you to the ocean.
Sunny Isles Beach has many new projects that offer beautiful and luxurious buildings and living spaces, but something that only Turnberry can offer is the exclusive private club lifestyle at Turnberry Isle Resort. With ownership comes privilege; our buyers will have an affiliation with the Turnberry Isle Resort, granting them exclusive access to world-class golf, our marina, and tennis.
The Soffer family has an established commitment to private club living in Aventura and the surrounding Miami area. It began with Don Soffer’s development of a large portion of the city of Aventura some 50 years ago. Now Jeff and Jackie Soffer have envisioned a new standard in luxury living on the ocean in Sunny Isles Beach. Having already developed Porto Vita in Aventura and Turnberry Ocean Colony in Sunny Isles Beach, the Turnberry Ocean Club will be the newest addition to an already distinguished collection of residential buildings. Jeff and Jackie have also expanded the Aventura Mall and Turnberry Isle Resort, as well as restored and redeveloped the Fontainebleau Hotel. Their continued commitment is to quality lifestyle living—just like their father, Don Soffer. This is what will draw buyers from around the world to live at the Turnberry Ocean Club.
