The 76th floor penthouse at the Time Warner Center was purchased by Telecom mogul Michael Hirtenstein for $15.7 million. However, when he decided he didn't really want to live in it, he rented it out to Jay-Z for $40,000 a month. Then, he went on to sell the place to Mark Cuban's business partner for $27 million in early 2007. Now, the four bedroom spot is back on the market for $38 million. One can only guess that the price jump is the result of a better version of the property six years later, as it more than doubled in value from its original starting point.
