Located in the heart of New York City, Ovadia and his team ensure there is always the element of the wow factor in everything that they do. Here, we caught up with the award-winning designer who walks us through his latest project in South New Jersey and how he was able to meet the client’s needs by breaking outside the traditional mold and creating a space that encompasses the identity of the client.
[This] home was designed for a young family who was looking to personalize their summer home. Located in an affluential part of South New Jersey, mere blocks away from the beach, this house boasts an open floor plan with a design concept that takes advantage of the large glass windows with a central focus on custom kitchen finishes made of grey walnut. The kitchen and its surrounding areas act as the central spine to the home.
The color palette used [throughout the project] were natural light hues of white and soft greys. “I did not want to introduce any bright colors that would take away the design aesthetics of the entire home, its beauty or architecture,” Ovadia said.
As soon as you walk in, you are able to experience materials such as an oak custom-made slatted screen with an iconic artistic mobile leading you to the floating interior staircase to the second floor. This minimalistic and chic home was designed to be comfortable and elegant while serving as the perfect home for entertaining.
