NBA Player Kevin Durant Buys $12M Oceanfront Malibu Residence

NBA star, Kevin Durant just recently parted with $12.05 million for a sprawling oceanfront residence in Malibu.

The Goldens State Warriors’ forward purchased the property, situated on private gated street, through a limited liability company that was recently registered, Mansion Global reported.

Built in the late 1970s, the 5,136-square-foot house underwent a major overhaul some five years ago that infused a contemporary aesthetic into the abode overlooking Broad Beach.

The multi-level, open-floor-plan home features French oak floors and vaulted ceilings that stretch through six bedrooms and as many baths. A remodeled kitchen boasts Calcutta marble, while a media room accommodates a glass wine wall. A wet bar, a library, a gym, an elevator and an expansive patio with an outdoor spa complete the smart oceanside residence.

The property first hit the market in late January, when Susan Monus and Chris Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage listed it for $12.45 million.

Before buying the exquisite residence, Durant, 29, spent the last offseason in an immaculate rental mansion in Hollywood Hills. The nine-time All-Star, who has a Most Valuable Player distinction under his belt, helped his team advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs earlier this week, when the Warriors prevailed over the San Antonio Spurs.
