In comparison, the second-most expensive location is Cap Ferrat in the South of France, with a value of $4,800 per square foot. New York boasts a ranking of 17, with a more reasonable $2,161 per square foot. The only other US-based locations to make the top fifty include Aspen ($974 per square foot), Telluride ($760 per square foot) and Miami ($580 per square foot).
