Sitting on nearly a half an acre of land in Hinsdale’s most desirable neighborhood is this stunning French Château designed by Linly Designs. Complete with marble tiles and countertops, exquisite millwork and coffered ceilings, Linly and her team transformed this entire 7,000 sq.ft. home into an enviable estate.

“We were excited to work on an entire house project where we could take full charge from the design concept to the completed finished result. We often work with clients and begin in one or two areas of their home, and once those spaces are complete, we continue on to other rooms of the home. However, with 527 Princeton, every inch of this home received an enormous transformation at once, so it was a great blank canvas for us to work with,” said Linly.

While there wasn’t a specific theme, Linly and her team focused on staying true to the character and architecture of the French estate. “We wanted clients to know that no matter the style of your home you can always use timeless finishes in very creative ways. In doing this, you preserve the style of your home and its architecture yet stay current and up to date,” said Linly.

By using neutral colors and plentiful textures, Linly and her team were able to create an elegant yet modern feel within the home. Natural stone can be found throughout the house on countertops, surrounding fireplaces, and on bathroom floors accentuating the architectural elements found throughout the estate.

While each room in this timeless estate is designed in a classic way, Linly’s most coveted spot in the house is the family room. “My favorite room of the house is the family room. It is a two-story space with beautiful wood beams, a large cozy fireplace, and windows flanking either side providing not only wonderful natural light but also a feeling of connection to the outdoors. It’s the perfect space to enjoy a movie or game night with the family or for entertaining guests,” said Linly.

The final result is an extraordinarily designed house focusing on timeless architecture, elegant details, and classic materials all of which emphasize the French Château character of this stunningly beautiful home.
