Haute Properties: Exclusive Info on Kim Kardashian’s Condo Sale

Kim Kardashian may be the celebrity (can we even call her that?) that we love to hate at the moment. I’m sure Britney Spears is relieved to know she’s lost the title.

The young Ms. Kardashian has suffered so many indignities at the hands of the media that she recently had to Twitter how she hadn’t killed her dog, a boxer named Rocky. Then there are those near-daily (hourly?) reports how she and boyfriend, NFL star Reggie Bush, are on again/off again. And of course, her lollipops that sell for $25. Talk about suckers.

Coverage of Kim makes my head spin. The woman goes shopping for a Masarati in Florida, and there are photos. The woman drives around Beverly Hills in her customized Bentley, and there are photos.

The offspring of O.J.’s defense lawyer, Robert Kardashian, and her mom-anager Kris (now married to Olympic decathlete Bruce Jenner), Kim sometimes appears as a self-contained enterprise. She models with and without clothing, she has a work-out tape, a shoe-shopping service, and even made an early round of “Dancing With the Stars” before she was voted off that island. (Sorry, after a while, those shows seem to blur together, don’t you think?)

But she recently had some good news: She sold her condo! Woo-hoo Kimmie!

The buyer was music producer and songwriter Makeba Riddick, who scored a No. 1 hit with Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” and another No. 1 on Billboard’s dance chart with Kelis’ “Acapella.”

The Grammy-nominated Riddick has had hits with multi-platinum sellers like Mariah Carey, JLo, and Beyonce. Riddick is one of the most successful and sought-after songwriters working today, so hopefully the Kim-meister left the condo in move-in condition. Riddick’s journey from the gritty streets of her native West Baltimore (you know, the area from The Wire and Homicide) to the glittering avenues of Beverly Hills would make a great made-for-TV movie—no disrespect intended for the celebutante Kardashian’s “reality” TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath condo in West Hollywood has 1,750 square feet and is in a small but trendy building with a central location near high-end shopping and cafes. It was listed last October at $1,099,000 and sold for $885,000, according to the MLS. Just wondering whether the poster-size photo hanging over the toilet of Kim posing ala Marilyn Monroe was part of the deal.

Josh Altman of Hilton & Hyland, Beverly Hills, had the listing, according to the MLS.
