Mr. C Hotel (and soon-to-be Residences!)

Mr. C Hotel is a beautiful luxury hotel in Coconut Grove with 100 rooms that comes from the fourth generation of hospitality leaders in the Cipriani family. Mr. C is also building their own residences in the heart of Coconut Grove, allowing all the luxury and design of the hotel to be someone's permanent home.

For Art Basel, Mr. C hosted "A Surrealist Stay" with JO-HS Gallery featuring works by artists Demit Omphroy, Ramiro Gonzalez Luna, and Celeste. The works of art were displayed throughout the hotel from pictures on the wall to sculptures in the garden, and even an intimate dinner with surrealist food displays amongst the real food for guests.

Ornare honored Miami’s top 100 designers, including Britto Charette, Ricardo Britto and Sandra Eolo, during a private cocktail event on Monday, November 28 in Miami Design District’s iconic Jade Alley. The event connected some of the biggest names in Miami’s design community while enjoying live entertainment, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from Okami and Aubi & Ramsa’s infamous alcoholic ice cream. The cocktail event was followed by a late-night after-party in Okami’s lounge upstairs.

The event also featured the unveiling of the Germane Barnes Disco Dome, shown for a limited time only during Basel.

Design Miami

Design Miami is the global authority on collectible design, bringing international and acclaimed designers to their Art Basel fair every year. This year's theme explored The Golden Age: Looking to the Future through the lens of design and included gallery exhibitions, curio exhibitions, and design talks by some of the latest and greatest in the design community.

Salone del Mobile.Milano

Founded in 1961, Solene began as a way to promote Italian-made furniture and exports but has now become one of the most-anticipated furniture trade shows in Europe. The company hosted an intimate dinner at Katsuya, South Beach for influential designers, artists, and architects to mingle and mix at the start of Miami Art Week. Marva Griffin, Director of the International Press Office, spoke to the guests about the company and their excitement for the annual fair taking place in April 2023 (previously moved because of Covid).

Fendi Casa

Fendi, LVMH's Italian Luxury Brand arm, began a joint venture with Design Holding to create the luxury design brand Fendi Casa. Fendi Casa chose the Miami Design District to open their first flagship store in the United States. The opening coincided with DesignMiami and features a key piece by Lukas Gschwandtner, a Vienna-based artist creating a triclinium formation of chaise lounge chairs.

Dolce & Gabbana Casa

Dolce & Gabbana partnered with Luxury Living Group to create and design a collection for Dolce & Gabbana Casa. Taking over 3 floors in the design district for Art Basel, the collection's themes came to life on all types of furniture including coffee tables, dining tables, couches, and accessories. The collection is the intersection of passion for beauty and the art of daily life, evoking a story of love and hospitality. The pop-up featured a preview presentation for two new themes for the Collection as well: DG Logo and Oro 24k. The new themes will feature the infamous DG logo, a symbol of the brand's history and identity, as well as an homage to the eccentricity of the Baroque era; all encompassed by the great Italian tradition of high craftsmanship.

The Elser Hotel & Residences

One of downtown Miami's newest hotel and residences, The Elser hosted multiple events for Art Basel. They unveiled a textile installation by Guatemalan artist Diego Olivero called "Lluvia de Lana" which was a mix of long wool threads in multiple colors cascading from the ceiling. They also partnered with Miami-based boutique record label, fashion house, and lifestyle brand Bribery Corporation to create a unique pop-up exhibit. The exhibit included pieces by conceptual artist John Barrymore as well as multiple other artists and digital NFTs.

The Ritz Carlton Hotel - South Beach (and soon-to-be Residences!)

The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach was an official Miami Beach Art Basel 2022 hotel partner that focused their pieces and celebrations on artists right in their backyard. As there is a huge international component to the artists at Art Basel, the Ritz decided to focus on South Florida artists pushing the envelope and "breaking down the barriers of what it means to be an artist." The Miami Symphony Orchestra was invited for the opening affair which also featured a champagne tower and Miami City Ballet dancers. Most special of all were the instruments the orchestra played on were art pieces designed by the prestigious MONAD Studio. The studio 3D printed sonic sculptures that created a new rendition of the piano and other instruments; after being played at the event, the pieces were displayed in the lobby throughout the week.
