Haute Residence caught up with DiSabato to discuss Naples and what makes it so special.

How long have you lived in the Naples area?

I have lived in the Naples area for more than 10 years now — and am originally from the Columbus, Ohio area — however, I have been coming to Naples since 1999. I used to vacation here with my family. I truly can’t think of a better place to call home.

Do you have a favorite beach in Naples you like to go to?

I am not a big beach “goer” as they say, however when do I do go to the beach I find a nice quite spot downtown off of Gulf Shore Boulevard. Or I if I want a little bit more action I will post up at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort, one of Naples’ best beachfront luxury hotels. Either way, the beaches are spectacular and offer beautiful warm water and sunsets that are world class.

What’s the best restaurant to go to for dining outside?

One of the best restaurants to go to dinner outside is the Turtle Club on Vanderbilt Beach. It really encompasses the Naples food, lifestyle and vibe. But we have so many outdoor dining options in Naples it’s hard to keep count. Fifth Avenue South is famous for its restaurants (most of which have outdoor seating options) and Third Street South is amazing as well. We really are a foodie’s delight.

Is there a place you love to go for desert?

I actually love to go to my country club at Grey Oaks C.C. for dessert. They have great desserts! But again, we have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to the food scene here in Naples, and that includes desserts. Tony’s Off Third is another terrific choice. If I think about this any longer I’ll need to run to the gym.

What are you most looking forward to about Naples in the Fall?

I look forward to people arriving back, the weather changing, and the season just starting! Season starts earlier and last longer every year, but around October you’ll start to see the car carriers return to town and notice that the temperatures are hitting that sweet spot and the next thing you know we are all talking about the holidays. And, of course, selling properties!
