Williams-Sonoma CEO’s Mapleton Estate Lists For $30M

The 20,000-square-foot Italian villa-style home of W. Howard Lester, the late chairman and CEO of the Williams-Sonoma company, has been put on the market for $29.95 million. The home, known as the Mapleton Estate, is located in Los Angeles’s tony Holmby Hills neighborhood, and is every bit as tastefully decorated as one would expect from the CEO of the classic gourmet foods and luxury cookware company.

Lester and wife purchased the Mapleton Estate in 2004 for $17.5 million, and spent a small fortune revamping the villa’s interior with designer Mark Boone. The home of course features a gorgeous open kitchen, as well as 7 bedrooms, dramatic vaulted ceilings, stone slab floors, a wine cellar, a screening room and a billiards room. The 1.4-acre Mapleton Estate grounds feature a pool and a rose garden.

The Lester Family Trust listed the property after W. Howard Lester passed away in November 2010. Agent Mauricio Umansky, founder and CEO of real-estate firm the Agency, has the listing.
