Amar’e Stoudemire Spends $3.7 Million on New Home, Pre-Lockout Resolution

The basketball community and the general public shared a collective sigh of relief on Saturday when news spread that the lockout is finally nearing resolve. But it seems this Knicks player’s wallet could have withstood a few more months of negotiation.

Amar’e Stoudemire just purchased a $3.7 million home in rural Southwest Ranches, Florida last month, a time when the lockout seemed never-ending. His new 14,555-square-foot home sits on on a 2.35-acre lot and features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and plenty of car space in a nine-car garage. Stoudemire paid one million dollars less than the original asking price.

If all goes well completing the agreement, the season will kickoff on Christmas Day.
