Jason Giambi, formerly of the New York Yankees, just sold this Upper East Side Empire Condominium for a cool $6.8M (not bad for a purchase price of $3,360,500).  Giambi purchased the eight room, 24th-floor apartment on 78th street in 2002 after signing a $120M contract with the Yankees.

Giambi listed the space in May for $7.35M and sold for the reduced price. The apartment features two wine cellars, granite countertops, gorgeous city views, marble bathrooms and more.
