Designed by architectural firm D. & J. Jardine, the loft-style building at 13 Harrison St. was built in 1887 for liquor merchant Alexander Halliday for business purposes. Original, Neo-Greg architectural elements, including cast iron columns, end piers, wood-framed shop windows, and metal cornices, have been preserved. The Henry Heide Candy Company acquired the property in the mid-1900s to use a manufacturing site.
