Kobe Bryant Cuts Price on Newport Coast Estate

NBA legend Kobe Bryant cut the price of his 8,471-square-foot California estate $1.5 million in January. The Lakers shooting guard and his wife, Vanessa, listed the Newport Coast property over a year ago.

They bought the house for $1.7 million in 1997, and have remodeled and expanded it in the interim. Now, it’s on the market for $6.995 million.

The Mediterranean-style property is part of a gated community. The estate grounds—which have city and ocean views—feature a pool and spa, fire pit, and outdoor kitchen. Inside are four bedrooms, seven baths, an 850-square-foot gym, hair salon, and in-home theatre with lobby, and a wet bar. Reportedly, when he is in Orange County, Bryant commutes from home to work via helicopter.

Bryant tore his rotator cuff in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans on January. Five days later, the Lakers announced he would be out for the rest of the season.
