Luxury broker The Agency says Malibu, CA is the top vacation spot for the elite thanks to its mere 40 mile trip from Los Angeles, America’s unofficial celebrity hub. The seaside escape offers fine dining and all of the features and activities to promote an outdoor lifestyle.
Celebrities like Steven Spielberg and Pierce Brosnan make their homes there year round, but for many of the rich and famous the town is a perfect rental destination.
Proximity is also a draw for New Yorkers who choose the Hamptons as a vacation spot. Mariah Carey and even President Obama have made the southern end of Long Island their summer destination.
For younger celebrities, South Beach, Florida is a popular summer getaway. A vibrant club scene and shopping offer an environment perfect for celebrities like Kim Kardashian, who also is profiting on the popularity of the social scene there; the Kardashian sisters chose SoBe for their Dash boutique.
For celebrities who want to add international flair to their vacations, the South of France and the Bahamas are also gaining ground as leisure destinations. The Middle East and Turkey are also becoming more popular choices as well.
