Summer Events You Shouldn’t Miss in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

There’s no better way to spend the summer months than in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Whether rafting on the exhilarating Snake River, fishing the peaceful glacier lakes, or indulging in the many flavors that Jackson Hole’s restaurants have to offer, one is guaranteed an incomparable experience. Boredom is an unfamiliar concept in Jackson, as the valley boasts a rich culture of music, art, and sophisticated dining experiences.

The Diverse Music Scene

JH Live kicks off the 2016 concert season at the base of Snow King Mountain with exceptional musicians preforming June 29, July 13, and August 19. The concerts’ relaxing and friendly atmosphere allow for visitors and locals to sip on Snake River Brewery’s hoppy beers, fine wine from JH Winery, and The Liquor Store’s infamous sloshies. Delectable food is served by some of Jackson Hole’s favorite restaurants to satisfy every taste.

In addition to JH Live, Teton Village offers a truly unique experience by providing free Concerts on the Commons every Sunday, beginning July 17, with additional concerts July 3 and July 4. All are welcome to attend and listen to the talented musicians and savor mouthwatering food, beer, and wine at the base of the famous Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Music on Main in Victor, Idaho, has become a favorite Thursday night activity for many locals. Teton Valley Foundation provides free concerts every Thursday evening which began June 23, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., just 30 minutes from the town of Jackson. Neighboring restaurants cater each of the events providing an enjoyable and relaxing ambiance. The local Start bus travels from various stops in Jackson to Music on Main throughout the evening, offering safe transportation to and from the concert.

The Grand Teton Music Festival presents jaw-dropping performances, from July 4 to August 20. The Wall Street Journal proclaims the Grand Teton Music Festival as “one of the best places to hear classical music in the summer.” Since 1962, the seven-week classical music festival has featured prestigious soloists and musicians from around the world. It is located at the innovatively designed Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village, known for its exceptional acoustics. From intimate chamber music, to grand symphonies, the Grand Teton Music Festival is an absolute must.

50th Annual Art Fair

July 8 to July 10 and August 12 to August 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Miller Park in the heart of Jackson, the art fair awaits. It includes a variety of unique and diverse art and brings together artists and collectors globally. For only a $5 admission, you can experience art, music, and food. This is a fun-filled day for families with a host of children-friendly activities, face painting, and snack booths.

32nd Annual Jackson Hole Arts Festival

From September 7 to September 18, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce presents the Jackson Hole Arts Festival and hosts a number of events, exhibits, and gallery walks showcasing impressive jewelry, art, furniture, and fashion. Costs vary and many events are catered by a number of remarkable, local restaurants. This is a wonderful opportunity to become familiar with local galleries and artists.

Jackson Hole’s Very Own Vertical Harvest

Jackson Hole is pleased and excited to welcome Vertical Harvest into the community. This vertical hydroponic greenhouse constructed in the heart of Jackson produces vegetables year round for local markets, grocery stores, and restaurants. Vertical Harvest’s innovative strategy has allowed for a more sustainable environment and is committed to benefiting the valley by providing fresh vegetables. Vertical Harvest offers inventive employment opportunities, which includes hiring adults with disabilities.

Jackson Hole Marathon

For those willing to endure the distance, Jackson Hole offers an exceptional opportunity on September 3 to run a marathon alongside the most spectacular views in the world. The marathon is USATF certified and involves both paved roadways and pathways throughout the 26.2-mile journey.
