1) What is the most common hiccup you encounter when trying to find the perfect home for a client, and what is your typical approach to overcoming it?

The hardest part of finding a buyer the perfect home is that there really is no perfect home!  Buyers must realize that there must be some give-and-take in their wish lists for their “perfect” homes. We as agents try to find homes that match as many of the criteria that buyers want, but know in the end they will need to make a decision [and choose a home], even though it may not necessarily have all of the things they said they had to have in their “perfect” home. In the end, we [usually] manage to find their new home and they are very excited [even if the property does not have all of the features they originally desired].

2) Real estate agents are expected to be absolute experts on their respective regions. What steps do you take in order to ensure you know positively all that you need to in order to keep your clients well informed?

We are native San Diegans and have been selling real estate for a combined 67 years in all parts of San Diego County. That gives us an edge on selling in virtually any neighborhood. That said we do specialize along the coastal areas of our great city of San Diego. We do that by staying on top of all new listings and sales that come on the market. We preview new listings each week in our specialty area so the we are aware of all current inventory at anytime which in turn helps our buyers and sellers.
