How would you use Pantone’s Color of the Year 2014, Radiant Orchid, in a living space?

Because this color is a perfect foil with grey, taupe, beige, off white and pure white as well as navy and black, I would use it in a powder room. It is a color that enhances all skin tones so you always look radiant against it.

What’s one cool new trend you predict for 2014?

In the United States, there will be more of a trend towards a “euro- contemporary” look where designers mix very clean-line furnishings with traditional architecture

If you had an unlimited budget, what is the first change you would make to your own home or personal space?

Probably the master suite. While I don’t need additional square footage as I just bought a fabulous house on 4.5 acres, the home unfortunately has no closets.

What is the most difficult type of client to work with? What is your best advice for dealing with this type of client?

The most difficult client is a client who cannot make a decision and will not trust the professionals that they hire. The best advice I can give is to the lay the ground rules early so everyone is happy with the results.
