A sister restaurant to the Aspen staple, Jimmy’s, Jimmy’s Bodega opened with a boom over the Food & Wine Classic weekend, hosting a Don Julio Tequila bash. A seafood and raw bar, Jimmy’s Bodega has continued with the seafood tradition, taking over the old Pacifica restaurant and serving tasty ceviche, local tacos, and seafood platters.

With one of the few happy hour menus in town and a bar menu that caters to the locals, the “discount” menu may feature some small bites and refreshing drinks, such as $2 oysters, discounts on the raw bar, $3 Dos Equis xx, $8 Chateau Campuget Rose, and an $8 margarita.

Similar to former R&R restaurant, Bodega is located in an ideal spot on the pedestrian mall with a view of Wagner Park perfect for enjoying a light lunch out on the patio while watching summer rugby matches. One drink worth trying to accompany your lunch or dinner: the “Sangrita Green” with cilantro and pineapple, a strawberry basil paloma featuring Don Julio Reposado, and an Anejo old fashioned.

Jimmy Yaeger seems to really know how to succeed in the Aspen restaurant scene, so I look forward to seeing this fancy dive around next summer. Reservations are not accepted so make sure to arrive before the rush.
