Aquiva Super-Yacht Hotel Plans On Hold
By Natasha Dorsainvil

The frozen economic climate has stilled building plans for the world’s largest floating hotel. Dubai-based developers had hoped to open the Aquiva in time for the 2012 Olympics in London, but that may no longer be the case. “Everything is on hold at this point,” an official said. “We’re going to wait until the global economy improves a bit before we go forward.”
Plans for the Aquiva indicated a 170 meter super-yacht as a permanent hotel attraction on the Thames in London’s Canary Wharf. The yacht’s design comprised of 158 rooms complete with all the accommodations guests would find in any highly rated onshore hotel establishment including a gym, pool, and celebrity chef restaurant.
There’s no word on when the project will be revisited, but with Mid East plans also placed on hold, the eager sounds of construction may not be heard for some time.
