Frank McKinney’s Environmental Masterpiece
By Sunil Ramsamooj

Real Estate “artist” Frank McKinney has created an eco-friendly $29 million dollar mansion located in Manalpan, Fla. The estate is the first of its size to be certified green by the environmental standards of the U.S. Green Building Council and the Florida Green Building Council. The environmental masterpiece named Acqua Liana (Tahitian for water flower) was built with inspirations from Bali, Fiji, Tahiti, and Hawaii. It sits on 1.6-acres and rises 23 feet above sea level with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The property is a three-story, seven bedroom, 11 bathroom work of art that includes water gardens, an interior glass “water floor,” a suspended double-helix main glass stair case, and a guesthouse made out of palm and bamboo. Some green aspects of Acqua Liana are the solar panels (enough to cover a basketball court), pools that lower the temperature by 2-degrees, and air conditioning and air purification systems. The house will be debuted at an unveiling/book launch party on February 13, 2009.
