There are 11 schools located within the 720 sq mile attendance area. Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. Charter Schools: Forest, Twin Ridges, Sierra Expeditionary Learning School and Coldstream Alternative School. Private Schools (focus on academics and skiing and snowboarding): Custom Learning Academy, Squaw Valley Academy, Sugar Bowl Academy. College: Sierra College and Sierra Nevada College.
